When you are installing Glass wool Insulation on the ceiling, you must take a number of precautions when the home is fitted with ceiling downlights and or has other electrical equipment and even some types of cables exposed.

Do not cover electric equipment and cables as they may overheat and fail to perform.

• Ideally, place electrical equipment such as transformers and cables on top of the insulation layer. Seek advice from an electrician for cases where cables or other equipment have to be covered (you will need to place spacers/covers between the batts and the equipment to allow air circulation). 
• Do not place glass wool insulation on top of down-lights mounted above the ceiling. Leave 25mm clearance between the fitting and the batts to allow heat dissipation.

ISOLITE DOWNLIGHT GUARD
Isolite is designed for retro-fit installation where there is access to the downlight from in the ceiling. Isolite is available in two sizes – 72mm and 94mm; two optional accessories - Transformer Isolator and Spacer Accessory. No side clearances are required to timber or insulation when installed around 12V fittings.

FLEXI DOWNLIGHT ENCLOSURES
Flexi is designed for retro-fit installation from below where there is no ceiling access; i.e. between floors, skillion rooves. Flexi is available in many sizes to suit virtually any downlight or combination of downlights. FRE models can be installed without side clearances to timber and insulation on all sides.

FIREBREAK 12V DOWNLIGHT
Firebreak downlights are 90 minute fire rated and are supplied with integral fire protection; standard Osram accessories. Available in Fixed (75mm cutout), Tilt (90mm cutout) and IP65 Showerlight (72mm cutout). Fixed and Tilt models require only 25mm clearance from timber and insulation. Also suitable for timber lined ceilings.

The Eecolite is 90 minute fire rated and is designed specifically for GU10 mini CFL’s < 13 watt (cannot accept halogens) Available in Fixed (75mm cutout) and soon to be released in IP65 Showerlight (72mm cutout). Eecolite can be installed abutting timber and insulation.
